The Backroad Land Privacy Promise
Backroad Land is built by hunters' neighbors, and we know exactly what a good spot is worth. So here's our promise, in plain English.
Your spots are yours
Every harvest you log is private by default — nobody sees it unless you decide to share it. We never show your exact location to anyone: not other hunters, not the public, not us for any business purpose. When you choose to put a harvest “on the map,” the most the public ever sees is a whole township — roughly 36 square miles — and only once at least three different hunters have logged there, so no one can be singled out.
You’re in control, every time
For each harvest you pick: keep it Private, or post it Public to the board. You can change your mind, or delete it — really delete it, along with its photos and its location — whenever you want.
We will never sell your data
Not your harvests, not your locations, not your contact information. Ever. There is no fine print that undoes this.
The farmland side of the business stays on its own side
Shelby Realty can see general, anonymous trends — like how many deer were logged in a county — the same way anyone can read the state's published harvest reports. It cannot see your spots, and it will never use where you hunt to contact you. If you ever want to talk to us about your land there's a box you can check — and that box is the only way your information ever reaches that side of the house.
Your photos are clean
Phones hide GPS coordinates inside photo files. We strip that out of every photo before it is stored — and if we can't verify a file is clean, we refuse it rather than store it. A shared trophy card can never leak your stand.
Hunt hard, log your bucks, and rest easy.
